The visionary game developer, who helped create the immensely successful first-person shooter Call of Duty, has passed away in a car accident in Los Angeles, California at the age of 55.

The tragic news was verified by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, the development studio which he helped establish.

The celebrated game designer lost his life when his automobile collided and was engulfed in flames on a highway in Los Angeles on Sunday, according to.
