Star Denies Anti-Vax Position Following Voicing Contentious Pandemic Documentary
Liam Neeson has lent his voice to a recent film that casts doubt on the legitimacy of immunizations and lauds one-time government figure Robert F Kennedy Jr.
The Documentary's Contentious Foundation
Titled "Plague of Corruption," the film is adapted from a popular book published by a disgraced researcher, who rose to infamy during the pandemic for assertions that the illness was linked to a problematic version of the seasonal immunization.
Her collaborator, a producer, has penned books with controversial figure a known commentator. The producer took to social media hailing Neeson's participation in the documentary.
A Strong Denial
Representatives for the actor have released a comment strongly denying claims that he supports anti-immunization beliefs.
"Many understand that corruption can exist within the pharmaceutical industry, but that cannot be conflated with opposition to vaccines," the comment explains. "He never has been, and is not, anti-vax. His extensive work with Unicef reinforces his long-held support for public-health initiatives."
The response continued that the performer was not involved in crafting the film's editorial content and that questions about its claims should be directed to the producers.
Major Claims In the Documentary
According to the documentary, the voiceover read by Neeson features several strong points:
- It states that pro-vaccine voices have called for "unconditional submission" to government bodies.
- It argues that "medical science has become dangerously influenced by politics."
- Robert F Kennedy Jr is interviewed stating, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they simply are not safely tested."
- It further attacks stay-at-home orders, claiming they caused severe distress that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
- Regarding pandemic shots, it references a view that they were "developed too quickly" and seen as "risky trials."
Past Background and Ongoing Disputes
The film includes a historical film about clinical trials on children, which was afterwards the subject of a formal apology by the network for editorial breaches.
Recently, the political figure instructed the national health agency to revise its official position that there is no link between vaccines and autism. This supposed link is repeated in the documentary, even with a recent study from the WHO confirming no evidence has been found.
An Earlier Statement of Support
Contrasting the film's tone, Neeson has formerly expressed firm endorsement for vaccines in his role as a charity ambassador.
Two years ago, he described vaccines as "an incredible human success story," noting that "The debate about vaccines in lately has overlooked how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in human history."
"Plague of Corruption" ends with Neeson's voice stating, "This is not the end of our journey. Rather, it is the beginning of a different phase."
